LA has always been one of my favorite places for a weekend getaway. There are so many chic rooftops and outdoor patios to choose from when you’re looking for the true “Hollywood” lunch experience. One of my absolute favorite places flies under the radar and is a secluded hotspot for locals and hotshots in the film industry. It’s the perfect place to get the celebrity experience without the pretentious atmosphere. Filled with Old Hollywood glamour and charm, my favorite lunch spot in Los Angeles will always be Chateau Marmont.

Constructed in the 1930s, this grand hotel on Sunset Boulevard offers a little taste of the Golden Age of Hollywood. The garden terrace at Chateau Marmont’s restaurant is the perfect spot to soak up some California sun and discreetly watch some celebs.

A lot of Hollywood’s fancier hotel restaurants are grossly overpriced and overrated, but Chateau Marmont offers fair value and a dreamy atmosphere. If you have to choose between eating here or at The Beverly Hills Hotel, you’ll be a lot happier with the food and unpretentious service at this hidden gem. ( I highly recommend the steak + frites pictured above!)

The hotel also makes a gorgeous backdrop for a photo shoot. The grounds are truly stunning. Stepping inside feels like you’ve been transported back in time and gives you the feel of what Hollywood was actually like decades ago. I always compare it to how I imagine the Hollywood Tower Hotel being in real life. It’s honestly hard to find any places left in Los Angeles that epitomize the glamour of a bygone Hollywood era. That’s what makes Chateau Marmont and its restaurant truly special.
